Elevator and stabiliser construction - tapered section makes building slightly difficult - cannot be built using flat surface

Stabiliser first stages, spars are 1/4 x 1/8 spruce

Elevator construction - note notched ribs and hinge blocks

Elevator joiner close-up -1/4 inch solid rod

Basic rudder construction - tedious to construct as it cannot be built flat on the building board

Rudder/Fin construction - note plastic straw for routing wires for rudder rear light

Basic fuselage construction - you need some sort of jig so as not to end up with a banana fuselage!

Rather ugly at this stage - and old batteries come in handy as weights!!

Carbon fibre home made u/c legs shown here  - aluminium version too wide for true scale purposes

Throttle lingage - somewhat complicated and nerve wracking - custom built bracket to hold silencer and throttle bellcrank

Cockpit interior taking shape

Tail wheel assembly - simulating the real aircraft.....

Undercoat and panel lines done, engine in place

The beginning of the wing construction -  note woodenflap hinges

Right wing taking shape - large barn door flap on right

The bird has donned its wings!!! - note chaos on my workbench!!
